Stretch Goal Reached: The Satchel
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 01, 2019 at 08:33:27 PM

We made it to $40,000! The Satchel is now available as an ADD ON item for $15.

The Satchel will be made of faux green suede (animal and eco friendly) and is based on a fold-over design. Sized to fit a standard deck of cards. I am still waiting on the sample so the above is a mock-up and the final design is subject to change.

To add the satchel on to your pledge you can either hit the "edit my pledge" button and add $15 manually, or change to the new reward tier at $40 that includes the satchel. If you have pledged for anything more than just a deck you should edit your pledge rather than changing reward tiers or you will loose the other items in your pledge level! It won't confirm that you have added an actual item when you manually adjust your pledge, but at the end of the campaign when surveys are sent out you will have an extra $15 that can be used as a credit to add the satchel on.

Some of you have already added on to your pledges so thank you! It helped us get here that much faster. If you want to upgrade to the Collectors Tier you will be getting 2 Satchels included in the tier, it's a great deal and there will only be one more tier left after this one so don't wait!

The next three stretch goals are all freebies so keep sharing the project with your friends, it only gets better for you from here!

Some questions I've been asked about the satchel:

Will it also fit the Houses Cloth?

No, I tried to make this work, but the Houses Cloth is twice the size of the deck of cards even when completely folded down. It would have made the Satchel extremely bulky and for those who aren't getting a cloth there would be a lot of extra room.

Why is it an add-on and not a freebie?

I wanted these satchels to have quality, so instead of sacrificing that, I chose to make it an add-on item. This allows me to still create a quality satchel without compromising the vision. This is a very tactile deck and so I want the satchel to feel like it is a part of that experience. Satchels after the kickstarter will cost $20, and decks will cost $30.

Will the fold-over flap be extended or standard?

After the voting this weekend the extended fold-over was 95% favorable. It's likely it will be made with an extended flap unless the sample comes in and there is a major design flaw. I will update you once I have more information on this.

If you have any other questions about the satchel comment below and I'll try to answer them the best I can!

A Look at the Green Glyphs Collector Tier
over 4 years ago – Sun, Sep 29, 2019 at 10:19:04 PM

Some of you have already pledged for this tier and I think you're really going to be excited by all of the aspects of the Green Glyphs universe, especially because the value of this tier just keeps going up. I just wanted to make this aware for everyone because I won't ever offer a deal this good on Green Glyphs again: The Collector's tier is about to have a value of $172. This was an oversight on my end, when I planned the project I didn't plan on adding in two new items to the roster and so the value of this tier has gone way up.

As we're approaching more and more stretch goals, the collector's tier is becoming even more of a big deal because the items that are add ons (The Keychain, The Satchel x2!) will come free with the Green Glyphs Collector's tier. The first tier has already been claimed and we are almost halfway through the second one before it goes up another $10.

$120 Green Glyphs Collector Tier 1: SOLD OUT

$130 Green Glyphs Collector Tier 2: 15 left

$140 Green Glyphs Collector Tier 2: 25 available

INCLUDES:

  •   Green Glyphs Lenormand ($50)
  • Correspondence Cards (Set of 8) ($40)
  • Green Glyphs Houses Cloth ($25)
  • The Gilded Lily Pin ($10)
  • Green Glyphs Bingo (Set of 8) ($10)
  • House Keychain ($7)
  •   Satchel ($30, $15 each)
  •   Exclusive Gold Dog Card (free)
  •  2x Exclusive Seeing Stars Card (free)

If you have pledged for any of the collector's tiers they will all have the same amount of things- I can't edit a reward description after it has been pledged for which is why the Keychain and Satchel are not added to the item description of Tiers 1 & 2.

Anyways, just wanted to highlight this tier in case you were on the fence. Thank you again for your contributions to the Green Glyphs campaign, big or small, they make a big difference.

So THANK YOU! :)

Help Finalize the Satchel!
over 4 years ago – Sat, Sep 28, 2019 at 01:58:40 AM

Well, it was what you all wanted the most and what I was ready for the least. I spent last week sourcing different manufacturers for this satchel, and a sample is on it's way to me now! I wanted this satchel to be something special, something not like other card carrying satchels, so I designed this one with all of your contributions in mind.

The satchel will be made of faux green suede (animal and eco friendly) and is based on a fold-over design. Here's where I need your help: I'm debating between a 8.5" fold-over flap that can be used to do three card readings on the go OR a standard 3.5" fold-over flap. Which do you prefer? Would you use the extended flap for 3 card reads?  I'll be able to make a better choice on the satchel once the sample is in, but I would love to hear from you.

This satchel can be used for any standard poker sized card deck. This will be an ADD-ON item for $15 when we reach $40,000. If you want to put in your $15 and hit the "edit my pledge" button it will get us there faster! Two satchels will be included with all "Green Glyphs Collector Pledges" so there is no need to add it on. I'd recommend switching to this level at this point it's too good of a deal to pass up. The first Green Glyphs Collector Tier is already gone!

Please note, this is a mock-up and the design IS subject to change. I will update the kickstarter as soon as I have a finalized sample, but it may be a little while.

I'm still debating on adding an embossment or screenprinting something on the satchel. I am thinking the image of the Key from the KEY card. Seems fitting, thoughts?

Cast your vote below: extended fold-over or standard?

Stretch Goal Reached: Seeing Stars!
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 27, 2019 at 01:39:10 AM

A new thank you! we've just reached our third stretch goal: a holographic foil version of the STARS card. This is a freebie and will be included in all pledges in addition to the standard STARS card. This foil is very hard to capture, but take a look at the video of the sample swatch below, it's going to be stunning.

I think our next stretch goal is what everyone is most excited about, the satchel. I'll post a separate update on that before we get there soon, with a mock up design of what we can sort of expect.

Until then, please keep sharing the project with your Tarot and Lenormand friends!

How to use Green Glyphs for Creativity
over 4 years ago – Wed, Sep 25, 2019 at 10:41:25 PM

I wanted to take a minute to elaborate on how Green Glyphs can be used in ways other than doing traditional card readings. It's my hope that Green Glyphs can expand beyond just doing readings and it can become something you carry around with you to spark creativity.

Storytelling

You can use Green Glyphs to spark short stories by using the cards in the deck and randomly drawing cards to set the scene. Start by separating the significators (GENTLEMAN, LADY, PERSON cards) in their own pile and shuffling it well. Take the rest of the cards and shuffle them throughly.

Begin by picking a Significator, this will be the main character in your story. Then pull 3 - 7 cards from the other pile (depending on how long you'd like your story to be). And use these cards to generate this characters back story. Do the same with the next 2 cards in the significator pile to generate two supporting characters to the story and give them a backstory of 3 - 5 cards.

Another way to approach the storytelling aspect of Green Glyphs is to "Paint the Portrait" which is also a type of reading you can do. For this, you would place your significator in the center of a 9 card spread. The significator can either be chosen by you if there is a card you want to write about, or it can be chosen randomly by shuffling the deck. The eight cards surrounding are the aspects of the character's life, what makes them who they are and the events that lie in their near past or future.

In the example above, Stork is the main character with the cards surrounding stork acting as influences on the character. It's up to you if you want to take it literally and say the Stork is actually a Stork in your story or if it represents one of the aspects of Stork (someone going through changes, a foreigner, a baby)

Let's say for this example I want to write a story about the Stork. The cards below the Stork are driving it unconsciously and the cards above it are driving it consciously. The cards to the left are about the storks past and the cards to the right are what is ahead.

This is the story of a Stork in search of a Key. After traveling down many difficult roads and around the steepest of mountains has found itself among it's kind in paradise. Birds of all kinds surround the stork and the garden pulses with life. While the Stork is overjoyed to have made it through these challenges, it knows that the journey is not yet over. The answer that it is looking for is not in the Garden, but towards the Sea. And so the journey of the stork will continue until it reaches the shores of where it was born. It is here, on these very shores where the Stork took it's first flight, that the Key it is looking for lays resting at the bottom of the Sea. And it is up to the Stork to decide if it wants to take the plunge or find happiness back in the Garden.

There are many ways to approach this story. Doing these kinds of exercises will also make you a stronger Lenormand reader. In the above example I used the portrait spread, which is a common 9 card spread used in readings and is explained further in the Green Glyphs Guide.

Lenormand poetry

When you’re in a somewhat of a creative rut you can use the Green Glyphs deck to generate poems or couplets to spark writing. Take your deck and shuffle it, then start dealing out pairs, going through all 18 pairs and writing down their interpretations. Discard the ones that don’t seem to fit -- squeezing everything in can lead to a confusing poem. Afterwards shuffle around the pairs to make a poem or story. Here’s one I did:

DOG + LETTER = a friendly message:

CLOVER + SCYTHE = luck can suddenly change

PATHS + SUN = there are bright options ahead

KEY + HEART = the key is in the heart

SHIP + HOUSE = and the journey is at home

These are only a few ways to use Green Glyphs outside of readings, but the more time you begin to spend with your deck, the more ideas will flow!
